Ryan Corbett is an American citizen who has been wrongfully detained since August 10, 2022 by the Taliban in Afghanistan.
The Taliban acknowledges that it is holding Corbett in detention. He is designated as “wrongfully detained” by the U.S. Department of State. This designation means that the Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs (SPEHA) is responsible for managing Corbett’s case and securing his release.
