Statement on Israel-Palestine Conflict/War

The James W. Foley Legacy Foundation condemns the violence in Israel and the hostage-taking of civilians which has ensued.

As always, we track the number of Americans unjustly held captive abroad as we campaign for their freedom. As credible information becomes available, we update our website to reflect developments. We are heart-broken that at least 14 American citizens have died as a result of hostilities.

Diane Foley, Founder and President of the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation said, “Hostage-taking is a heinous violation of human rights. It must stop. At least four journalists have been killed, one injured, and two others who are missing because of this conflict. The Foley Foundation implores all combatants to protect innocent civilians and journalists bearing witness to these current events. We call for a speedy resolution to this crisis and the return of all taken hostage. We mourn those killed and those who continue to suffer.”
