WASHINGTON — The James W. Foley Legacy Foundation announced today that Hanna Siegel, a seasoned strategist and storyteller with extensive experience in journalism, public policy, and nonprofit leadership, has joined its Board of Directors.

Siegel spent a decade building and leading a national nonprofit. Today, she advises major brands and institutions on strategy and narrative to drive growth and impact. She also brings a unique perspective from her role in negotiating the release of her family members, Keith and Aviva Siegel, who were held hostage in Gaza—insights that shape her work helping leaders communicate clearly and unite around shared goals.
“I’m honored to join the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation Board and support its vital mission,” Siegel said. “The Foundation’s advocacy for Americans held hostage abroad and its support for families in crisis resonate deeply with me. I look forward to advancing its impact and ensuring every voice and story is heard.”
Diane Foley, Founder and President of the Foundation, said, “We are delighted to welcome Hanna Siegel. Her personal dedication to hostage advocacy and storytelling, combined with her deep nonprofit expertise, will amplify the Foley Foundation’s impact for years to come.”
